As the SOP activity is now to it’s end I’ve been thinking about creating a new QSL card design for the SJ7SOP call.

The first design was created in 2013, the first year I participated with the special call, and printed by LZ1JZ Print with excellent results and good quality. The image on the front is photographed by a HAM colleague and friend Patrik Nilsson, SM7URN, and shows a local winter view of the Baltic sea at Edenryd archipelago in Bromölla municipality.

2013 QSL design, front and back

Patrik is, in my opinion, a talented amateur photographer and it would be a shame not to ask for his help in producing a new design for the card this time as well! The Sea Of Peace activity has a strong connection to the Baltic states and the Baltic sea. This is also why I would like to have a motive with some connection to the sea and also the local life in this part of Sweden. I’ve been reviewing some images from Patrik and found some good candidates which also have some connection to the hobby itself. What that connection might be you will see when the design is presented here on the blog.

I’m in no hurry with getting the cards ready but my goal is to have the design ready in the end of august/middle of September. Hopefully the cards will be delivered to the bureau in the beginning of November.
